The power of patience in healing
Discover how cultivating patience creates a safe and effective space for growth and understanding in every counseling journey. Your pace, your path, your healing.

From problem solver to patient guide
My journey in counseling began as a Chaplain Assistant in the US Air Force, where I provided counseling for students in a technical school. My goal was often to quickly identify and solve their issues, a very different pace from typical mental health counseling. Once I started my internship, I learned the importance of adjusting my approach, transitioning from a problem-solver to a patient guide. This shift required learning and planning, allowing me to develop a more therapeutic pace that truly benefits my clients.

Healing at your own pace
When patience is embraced in the counseling process, the most significant benefit for my clients is the ability to heal at a pace that suits them. This fosters a deep sense of being understood and heard. It ensures that the journey toward well-being is not rushed but is tailored to individual needs, allowing for genuine progress and lasting positive change.

Your time, your session, your journey
If I were to describe patience in my counseling style with a short metaphor, it would be: "This is your time and your session. I am here for you." This embodies the core belief that each client's experience is unique and deserves an unhurried, dedicated space where their voice is central. It signifies a commitment to being fully present and supportive, allowing the therapeutic process to unfold organically.
"Felicia's patient and understanding approach made me feel truly heard for the first time. I could finally work through things at my own pace."
